Chelsey and Joshua Mullins | Chapel at Chestnut Square in McKinney, Texas

The Chapel at Chestnut Square

At the start of the 18th hour on August 10th, Chelsey and Joshua leapt into the next chapter of their lives in a beautiful vintage ceremony in the Chapel at Chestnut Square in McKinney, Texas. Skys the Limit Production was there to record and frame each precious moment.

Nearly 13 years ago love found a resting place between these two in perhaps, one of the unlikeliest places, a brand-new restaurant in Rockwall on the harbor. Neither of them could have predicted that their budding friendship would eventually lead them down the aisle.

With Joshua’s two daughters and Chelsey’s two sons, the two joined forming a modern-day Brady Bunch, just as sweet as fiction. The night before they were to officially adopt the title of homeowners, Joshua surprised Chelsey with a question of forever on his lips on the steps of that house, ensuring that this new page had a glorious start.

Chapel at Chestnut Square

The Chapel at Chestnut Square offered itself as an excellent representation of this lovely couple. It provided all the elements of a classic wedding ceremony with the sprinklings of new traditions specific to their new union.

Joshua couldn’t hold his tears at bay as the large dark wood doors of the chapel opened to reveal his bride, wearing an elegant creamy white, sleeveless sequined gown, as she took her first steps toward their forever. He stood, with an anxious calm in a white- collar shirt with his sleeves rolled up, covered in a simple four button dark grey vest and pants. With one hand resting over the other, his leg shook as he prepared to take her hand into his own. There was not a dry eye in sight as friends and family alike, witnessed their commitment take shape in front of their very eyes.

Once their “I Do’s were exchanged the newlyweds, along with their guests, ventured out of the chapel and into the reception area. Smiles were radiating light from all around with tears of joy to match. Guests took their time to write notes, pose for pictures, and keepsakes, to wish the couple well until daylight started to retreat.

With the certificate signed, the bouquet tossed, the toasts concluded, the couple took to the stone floor of the wooden gazebo, urging others to join as they fervently danced the night away.

Taylor and Seth | The Springs in Weatherford, TX

The Westwood Hall offered its warmth to the guests of Seth and Taylor, as they committed themselves to one another on August 17th at 2:00 in the afternoon. This beautiful moment in time left an indelible impression on 454 Thompson Rd. Skys the Limit Production was there to capture it all.

No one would dispute the idea that social media has a lot of offer. If one should look, nearly anything desired can be found. This sentiment was made true for Seth and Taylor. Though they were not looking, they connected in the cyber streets of Instagram. After realizing that they shared a church, decided to go on a date and as the saying goes, the rest is history.

Over time their fondness for one another grew immensely. During spring break, the week apart, was enough for Seth to realize the full measure of his love for Taylor. At the close of the week, Seth surprised Taylor with a bouquet of flowers on his front lawn, insisting that they pose for pictures. As he took a knee to “tie his shoes”, he raised his eyes, brimming with his love for her and confessed that he didn’t want to spend another minute without her. There in his front yard, while his brother recorded the scene, Seth asked Taylor to be his wife.

Weddings have their share of ripples in the lake of human plans but there seemed to be a peculiar joy emanating from the wedding party as they eagerly posed for photographs and commanded the scene in view of the camera.

The sky gifted the ceremony with a beautiful blue hue and just enough to sun to warm the air. Guests seated in the crisp white lawn chairs, that lined either side of the concrete runway littered with flower petals, all turned their eyes to stare in awe as Taylor gingerly made her way to the alter in a classically beautiful gown. Poised between two stone pillars, underneath a dark wooden arch dressed in greenery and sunflowers, Seth stood clothed in a simple, yet, elegant, black tux with a white-collar shirt, beckoning his bride.

As the Seth and Taylor bowed their heads in prayer, the stillness of their decision settled into the hearts of all attendees. Surrounded by the awesome beauty of God’s artistry, the richness of the earth around them, it was clear that this union was one he fashioned himself.

The wedding party vacated the invisible boundaries of the afternoon sun and reconnected in a massive ballroom. Drawn with various earth-tones, the sunflower drew eyes everywhere she rested. The night drifted away as the clatter of feet traced fresh memories into the polished wood of the dance floor. There were smiles all around. Perhaps Seth echoed the sentiment of the evening best when, after playfully painting Taylor’s face with a bit of cake, he offered in a gleeful shout, “I love you!”

Skys the Limit Production wishes the lovely duo the very best that life has to offer. Thank you for allowing us to be there to celebrate your moment.

Victoria and Samuel Blaze | Book Nook Inn Bed and Breakfast in Lumberton, TX

On May 25th Victoria and Samuel exchanged their promise of love to one another at the Book Nook Inn in Lumberton, Texas. I was thrilled when they chose Skys the Limit Production to photograph their wedding day.

Wedding ceremony at the Book Nook Inn Bed and Breakfast in Lumberton, TX

Let’s rewind..

Before we get into the classy wine-colored wedding, let’s rewind just for a moment to the day Sam proposed. He had the whole night planned. Both his and Victoria’s family were at one of their favorite steakhouses, and of course, the families knew why they were there. After everyone sat down for dinner in the “party room” together, Sam told a little white lie to Victoria. He said he had to go “grab his camera” out of the car.

At that time, Rachel, the maid of honor was hiding out in the car with one of Sam’s friends. He brought the pair with him inside the restaurant with the ring safely in his pocket. Sam prepared some music and a Skype call, so Victoria’s other maid of honor could be there for the moment as well. After doing all of this planning and even writing a whole note of everything he wanted to say, he became nervous with the number of people in the room. He started speaking a few things from his heart then popped the famous question. In Sam’s own words he said “She said YES right away because she has been waiting for a while for this to happen lol”.

Wedding day

Taking photos of everyone getting ready for the big day was a breeze because of the venue’s layout. The bride and groom’s room on top of one another. We even took the time to snap a photo of the couple together while still holding onto the tradition of the groom waiting to see his bride! Sam wore a dark suit with a wine-colored tie and white shirt. Victoria’s dress had laced see-through sleeves. Her modest train brushed the ground while she walked.

Before the ceremony, my team, the bridesmaids, and Victoria cried out in laughter while trying to position Victoria in a sexy head-turning pose for “Sam’s” photos. All jokes aside, the images turned out pretty good!

The ceremony was held outside of the Book Nook Inn next to the venue’s pond. Everything was beautiful; the bridesmaids wore wine-colored dresses while the groomsmen wore matching ties and vests. Finally, the unity candles were set up on the small dock on the water. During the lighting of the candle, Victoria surprised Sam with a special pocket watch. After exchanging rings and vows, let’s just say the smitten couple gave me more than enough time to photograph their first kiss.

Everyone gathered inside for the reception and cheered as the wedding party danced through the building. The couple showed off their love of the DC Universe by adding a golden Wonder Woman and Superman symbol hidden on the back of the bridal cake.

The sweetest speeches were given; even I couldn’t help but get a little choked up. One of the maids of honor mentioned passing her title as the “best” friend of the bride to the groom. My favorite part of the reception was the big group photo of all the guests; it’s always such a unique wedding photo because you can reflect and be reminded who all attended.

The night ended with a precious private dance for the couple and romantic flying paper lanterns into the sky. If you are looking for a photographer yourself, get in touch!

Sandra and Jim Sackett | La Cour Venue in McKinney, TX

It was Friday, May 10th was full of drizzle across North Texas, Jim and Sandra had planned on an outside ceremony, so they decided to be wed inside the La Cour, which is an elegant and cozy brick venue in McKinney. Photo by photo, Skys the Limit Production documented the newlywed’s big day.

The ceremony was filled with smiles and beautiful moments; it was a charming burgundy and ivory wedding. The reception was held in the same room and there was an abundance of the couple’s favorite sweets for all to enjoy! As the night went on, the live band took guests back to the 1960s with songs like ……. Guests enjoyed tortillas with smokey fajita meat, and the bartender kept drinks flowing through the night. I could see why Mr. & Mrs. Sackett invited each of their wedding guests as I got to meet each person while taking their photos; they were a kind, light-hearted, and humorous group.

I loved this relaxing, beautiful wedding! If you’re getting married and looking for a McKinney wedding photographer, get in touch! Here are some of the photos from Sandra and Jim’s wedding day.
