Blessing and Opekere Omuku| The Aristide in Mckinney, Texas

The Aristide at 6200 TPC Drive had never seen beauty quite like what flooded its frame at 1400 hundred hours on the 16th of August. A moment redefined by the merging of two worlds, as Blessing and Opekere committed themselves to one another before God and family in a ceremony reminiscent of royalty. Skys the Limit Production had the distinct pleasure of capturing their nuptials.

How they met

Blessing’s sister was the first to discover the treasure hidden in the Omuku family, when she found forever with his cousin, Mina. From the first moment she met Ope, she knew that he would be good for her sister and she was correct. It was only fitting that Mina, which means the child that brings two families together, and his wife, Blessings sister provide a means to connected these two lovebirds. Despite any misgivings the two may have had, Blessing and Ope found a rare love in one another; a love that far exceeded their wildest dreams.

There was nothing out of the ordinary about a trip to the aquarium during a visit from Blessing’s family. As they made their way through the aquarium, she couldn’t hide her surprise when she saw her best friend and goddaughter, whom Ope had secretly flown into town, walking towards her. The question in her eyes was quickly answered as Ope took that moment to ask for her hand in front of those dear to her.

Wedding day

Crystal chandeliers glistened as they hung from the vaulted ceilings of the classic wedding chapel, adding a little bit of magic to the space. The wooden pews, which lined the floor, were vacated briefly as Blessing, escorted by her father in, made her way down the aisle to her Ope who awaited her, all the love in his heart spilling from his eyes. The scene was a seamless mesh of traditional ceremonial hues and a rich Nigerian culture.

The future Mrs. Omuku looked royal in her white traditional, strapless, sequined gown, a diamond encrusted headband, and a beautiful diamond necklace. Opekere looked dashing in his classic black tux, with a simple soft pink rose pinned to the front of his jacket.

With a sparkle in his eyes, Blessing’s father passed on the responsibilities of protecting and loving his beautiful gem, his Blessing, onto Ope in a manner that only a loving father could. Tears flowed as Blessing and Ope made clear their promises to one another, opting to speak from a place they’ve learned to trust, their hearts.

The wedding party soon grooved their way into a beautiful ballroom to the melodic tunes of Tiwa Savage’s, All Over, where guests of the ceremony were already seated. Blessing and Ope stole the show as they claimed the dance floor, proving to everyone that they were indeed the “freshest couple; the newest couple; the most beautiful couple.”

Skys the Limit Production would like to offer a very special thank you to the lovely couple.

Jamie and Chris Allen | Donna Bella Chapel in McKinney, TX

A happily ever after wedding with a touch of New Orleans

When Jamie first got in touch with me about their fairy tale dream wedding coming true in McKinney, I was so excited – they were planning a jumping the broom tradition, a live band from Louisiana and a beautiful candlelit reception! Jamie and Chris seemed like the loveliest people and I couldn’t wait to video their wedding!

Getting Ready

I was surprised by a bottle of wine from the bride herself when I arrived to capture her and her bridesmaids. They were getting ready in the Sanctuary music and events building. Along with Jamie’s gorgeous dress, she wore the cutest cheetah heels and Chris wore a dark suit with a classic tie. The two exchanged gifts and letters to each other and allowed me to record the special moment separately on camera.

Ceremony

The wedding took place at the Bella Donna Chapel, and it was a romantic ceremony. The bride and groom went with traditional, and waited to see each other down the aisle. The couple combined the small flames from their family’s candles into one. They each wrote their own touching vows.

When the time came to kiss the bride, the bride helped herself on kissing the groom before the pastor could finish his sentence; it was hilarious, but so sweet at the same time! After the ceremony, they jumped the broom and the crowd applauded. Everyone joined outside as the newlyweds rang the church’s bells announcing their news to the world!

Reception

The wedding reception took place at the Sanctuary music and events hall, which they’d decorated with candlelight and photos. It was a charming sight.

During the reception they had a live band come out all the way from Louisiana, which you could tell everyone loved by the wave of white handkerchiefs all over the place. After the meal there were a few speeches as well as a few tears! The DJ then kicked off the party and everyone danced in the center of the venue with the newly weds.

The couple

Jamie and Chris met through Instagram. Chris proposed to Jamie on New Years Eve in Downtown Dallas in front of the Reunion Tower-watching the Fireworks. Jamie was trying to record the fireworks when they were counting down to the new year; when the number landed on one, Jamie turned around and saw Chris was on one knee.

Here’s the couple’s magical wedding!

Nicole and Nate Wood| Private Residence in Double Oak, TX

Nicole and Nate were wed outside in the back of a private residence in Double Oak, Texas May 4, 2019. It was an intimate and glamorous wedding full of good food, friends and fancy dance moves. I had the privilege of taking photos of the special occasion.

Nicole and her girls got ready at a different location, a friend’s house, and there was such an exciting vibe. All the girls in the wedding party wore matching robes with their names across their backs. Later Nicole wore her blush colored wedding dress, and looked so incredible. After her mother helped her button up her dress, Nicole’s mother presented her with a special gift; her grandmother’s ring.

Nate got ready at the ceremony location in Flower Mound with his boys. He wore a grey suit with a dark navy blue tie, and looked really dapper.

The ceremony was held in the backyard of the beautiful home next to a gorgeous swimming pool and garden. The ceremony area was simple, natural, and beautiful underneath the bright sunny skies. The ceremony was full of smiles, giggles and excited hand squeezes.

After the ceremony, we stayed at the ceremony area for portrait photos, which is such a great time for the newly married couple to have some time to let it sink in. Then the couple mingled with their guests, which was the perfect time for me to get candid photos. I got some really fun guest photos as everyone was so much fun and loved having their photo taken – especially after a few gins! The weather was all sunshine and blue skies, it was a beautiful day.

Nicole and Nate chose to have their wedding reception underneath a rental tent outside to fit all their guests and keep the atmosphere fun and relaxed. The couple had music and cocktails for their guests, and everyone had so much fun taking turns with the photo camper!

The newly weds had heartfelt and occasionally hilarious speeches after dinner made by the best man and maid of honor; the father of the bride shared a word or two as well. The cake was so good the couple decided to let each other try the cake with their nose, chin and forehead as well!

Guests young and mature danced and sang all night long – it was a night to remember for sure! One of the guests even insisted on taking a photo of me – that was definitely a first for me! I would say Nicole and Nate’s glamorous backyard wedding was a success and I’m so honored to have captured their special day.
